Job Summary:
Job Coach Specialist is responsible for helping consumers keep their current position within the Ability One Program by providing Job Coaching and new skill development. This position must be able to mentor and support the individuals that we serve with empathy, patience, and a positive attitude. Having communication skills combined with critical thinking techniques are vital prerequisites for this job. This position is Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm (Work schedule varies, primarily Monday thru Friday, however the successful applicant must be flexible and able to work occasional nights or weekends based on location needs. Good driving record and reliable vehicle required).

Essential Functions
Responsible for:
1. Guide clients in learning to complete job tasks
2. Monitor, document and evaluate the progress of clients
3. Assessing consumer’s career interests and preferences and helping them achieve their career goals.
4. Communicate with clients to understand their goals and capabilities
5. Keep records and prepare the appropriate reports
6. Ability to work with a wide range of clients with various disabilities across job sites
7. Provide on-going training and support in identifying areas of improvement or strength
8. Provide additional training and follow-up in related skills
9. Assists in obtaining PASS plan funding to support educational and employment goals as indicated
10. Provide education about mental illness to host companies and community groups as well as training the host company personnel to function as natural supports.
11. Developing effective Job Coaching and employment plans
12. Work with consumers on job retention, job development and advancement.
13. Provide on-going liaison/advocacy/instructional intervention with patience and empathy
14. Develop an Individual Service Plan with the consumer
15. Participate in interagency planning to ensure consumer’s needs are met
16. Assist Host Company with workplace modifications and/or accommodations in accordance with the ADA
17. Complete all record keeping as required.
18. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
19. Identify and cultivate natural supports within employment environments
20. Assess project manager satisfaction through formal assessments and informal feedback.
21. Conduct employment related groups on topical issues.
22. Provide continued 1:1 training/retraining at the job site initially and as job changes.
23. Provide direct support with clients on their first day of employment
24. Help in the development of motivation and skills
25. Assist all team members whenever possible.

Qualification/Education/Experience:
1. B.S./B.A. Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field.
2. Four years full-time employment working with persons with varying disabilities
3. Valid driver’s license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
2. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WORK Inc.’s company policy and applicable laws.
4. Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Mathematical Skills:
1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
2. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, ability to create and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
1. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
2. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Communication Demands:
1. The ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, financial reports and legal documents.
2. The ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints.
3. The ability to effectively present information to the Board of Directors, employees, program participants and members of the business community.

Environmental Demands:
The work is performed in a non-smoking environment. The work is normally performed in a temperature-controlled zone, however, there are exceptions. General requirements:
1. Good standing balance, defined as the ability to stand and walk without a loss of
balance.
2. Full upper extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain:
Full shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, and rotation.
Full elbow flexion, extension, supination, and pronation.
Full wrist flexion, extension, radial and ulnar deviation.
3 Normal upper extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified
body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance.
4. Full lower extremity range of motion defined as the ability to obtain:
Full hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and rotation.
Full knee flexion and extension.
Full ankle flexion and extension.
5. Normal lower extremity strength defined as the ability to move the specified
body part through a full range of motion against maximum resistance.
6. Full trunk range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and
extension, rotation, and side bending.
7. Full cervical range of motion as defined by the ability to obtain full flexion and
extension, lateral flexion and rotation.
*Continuous: Sitting, talking, standing, hearing
*Frequent: Reaching, walking, climbing stairs
*Occasional: Bending, stooping
*Rarely: Lifting
