Provides care to patients and people across the state of Indiana who are seeking services and/or being treated for reasons pertaining to substance use disorder. Collaborates with treatment teams and other supportive entities to provide a plan of action for patients and connection to resources. Follows up with patients to check in and encourage patient progress. Shares personal experiences with the goal of conveying strength and hope in one's own recovery. Participates in admission process when appropriate and recommends other treatment modality and/or facility when a patient is not appropriate for admission.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required. Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Health/Addictions preferred.
Personal lived experience and at least one (1) year as a person in long term recovery from substance use preferred.
Requires completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach training from Indiana Counselors Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA).
Certification in Peer Recovery Services is required within six months from hire date.
Experience with academic institutions and academic medical centers preferred.
Basic proficiency in MS office required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws required.
