Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 5 days per week, includes alternating holidays and weekends
Pay: $15.75 - $17.75

The Janitor will be responsible for helping to maintain an attractive, clean, and comfortable environment to meet the needs of our residents.
Primary Responsibilites:
- Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization.
- Maintains floors and carpets.
- Picks up and removes trash.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Someone who can understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
- Has knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals/solvents and demonstrated ability to work safely with them.
- Can learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
- Work as a team member in a structured working environment
- Can handle multiple tasks and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Three to six months experience in housekeeping or custodial position preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching, and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. Must be able to operate a vacuum, work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects, and have constant contact with residents. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
