Job Title:IT Systems Engineer
Salary Range: $95,900-118,600
About the Position
The Systems Engineer manages and monitors all Seattle Goodwill installed systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, and application software and system management tools. Identifies tasks and issues found within the infrastructure and corrects them as needed. Assists Enterprise Infrastructure Manager with projects as assigned. Provides mentoring and guidance to junior members of the team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

• Lead efforts to architect complex technical solutions in accordance with established design criteria, collaborating with all necessary subject matter experts.
• Responsible for Windows Active Directory architecture design and management.
• Manages the planning, configuration and deployment of Group Policy Objects.
• Implements and manages data security platforms.
• Administrate infrastructure servers, firewalls, databases and software.
• Manage VMware virtual server environment, vCenter Installation, management, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Support Dell/EMC Viral HC infrastructure consisting of virtual servers and Horizon View instant clone VDI desktop pools.
• Configuration and management of existing and new cloud services to include Office 365 and Dynamics 365.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and network connectivity issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and test system security, from virus protection to disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide backup and secondary support of Seattle Goodwill databases.
• Automate IT and company workflows with PowerShell, Python, or other programming languages
• Assist in design and implementation of network infrastructure, hardware and software.
• Design and manage services in Azure, AWS and other cloud providers.
• Perform upgrades to server hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Participate in planning of Seattle Goodwill’s growth and expansion.
• Create and implement backup-and-restore and disaster recovery procedures using Veeam and Azure cloud
• Provide technical support for hardware, software and network issues discovered by our field service engineers or service desk technicians.
• Identify and validate exploitable vulnerabilities using penetration and social engineering tests.
• Implement and test Okta identity and access management (IAM) workflows to provision compliant accounts
• Acts as primary in absence of Sr. Systems Engineer.
• Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree or equivalent proven experience.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in computer field.
• System implementation including routers, firewalls, switches, servers, virtual server infrastructure, directory services, data and network security platforms.
• Ability to work as a team member and independently.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex data in layman’s terms, both verbally and in writing using a non-technology vocabulary.
• Maintaining relevant skills and knowledge; acquire additional training as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

• Current WA State driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Computer/Technology Skills:

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds and to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment: Retail store environment, office environment, dust, temperature varies; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must have reliable transportation as this role requires some travel to location sites.
