Summary:
Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the IT Network Engineering department. Responsible for the security and support of the enterprise network computer infrastructure. Evaluate and determine specific systems' needs to ensure proper operation of the network infrastructure. Develop recommendations and prepares both departmental and systems expenditure requirements for hardware and software to ensure that IT service needs are met. Review, evaluate and recommend staff assignments to ensure service and support requirements are met. Interact with appropriate IT and business unit personnel. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, develop, measure performance, mentor, discipline, and schedule department staff
- Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
- Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
- Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
- Maintain, secure and administer LAN, WAN, and Wireless Infrastructure
- Establish and enforce IT service level agreements for problem resolution
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of IT technology procurement and development efforts and makes recommendations to the Sr. Director of IT Infrastruture and Operations
- Liaison with vendors for the procurement of new systems technologies, oversees installation, and resolves adaption issues
- Manage day-to-day operations of IT network engineering staff and ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues
- Coordinate and perform hands-on fixes at the network level, including installing hardware and configuring systems and network-related applications
- Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
- Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant) based on request
- Manage corporate IT assets in a manner maximizing the investment in technology development, upgrades and refreshes
- Develop and maintain collaborative, strategic partnerships with all relevant internal departments as well as external vendors, regarding support for IT network engineering components and solutions
- Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of network and other infrastructure
- Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience performing same or similar job duties
- Previous experience in hotel/casino environment preferred
- Field experience with the deployment of Cisco routing, switching and security technologies
- Know and ability to troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure
- Experience designing and describing layered architectures
- Proven ability to logically, accurately, and efficiently troubleshoot network components
- Proven ability to use sound and ethical judgement
- Must possess excellent communication and organization skills
- Have a current CCNA and actively pursuing a CCIE preferred
- Security certification such as Security+ or CISSP preferred
- Must be available for off-hours remote and/or on-site team or customer support
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
