Who We're Looking For:We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable IT Specialist to join our team. As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our company's information technology systems. You will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and implementing technology solutions to meet the organization's needs.
Some Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support: Respond to and resolve user inquiries, issues, and requests related to computer systems, hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Install and configure systems: Set up and configure computer hardware, software applications, and network equipment.
- Perform system maintenance: Regularly monitor, update, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
- User training and documentation: Create user guides, documentation, and conduct training sessions to assist users in utilizing technology resources effectively.
- Implement technology solutions: Collaborate with team members to assess business requirements and recommend and implement technology solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Ensure data security: Implement and enforce data security measures, including user access controls, backup systems, and disaster recovery plans.
- Stay up-to-date with technology trends: Continuously expand your knowledge of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and IT advancements to enhance the effectiveness of the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners: Liaise with third-party vendors and external partners to procure hardware, software, and services and ensure smooth integration and operation of IT systems.
- Maintain inventory and asset management: Track and manage inventory of hardware, software licenses, and other IT assets.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Endpoint, Github, Atlassian Jira and Confluence, Mattermost, Zoom.
- Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Ubuntu Linux) and familiarity with network protocols and technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with users, team members, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus.
- AWS and GCP experience are a plus.
Hourly salary range: $36 - $48/hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
