The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a IT Network Engineer II . The Network Engineer II is responsible for design
support
and maintenance of the data
video
and wireless network infrastructure. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Cisco switches
routers
and firewalls in a datacenter environment. Subject matter expertise in networking and related processes/tools is required.
What you will do:
- Perform implementation
maintenance and troubleshooting of network components to ensure availability
reliability
and optimal performance.
- Manage and maintain multi-vendor
multi-protocol networks with expertise in switching
routing
and firewalls.
- Plan
schedule
and implement network maintenance outside of business hours to include firmware upgrades
hardware replacement
and configuration changes.
- Performs difficult network troubleshooting to isolate and resolve multifaceted
highly complex or ambiguous network problems.
- Assist security team with installation and administration of NAC
packet aggregation tools and other security appliances as needed.
- Roll out and support VPN communications to remote locations.
- Serve as a tier II escalation point for complex networking issues.
- Participate on project teams for all new hardware implementations including participation in product evaluations
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in aligning field
i.e. computer science or information security.
- CCNP Certification or Equivalent Experience.
- 5+ years of related work experience supporting large enterprise network environments.
- Experience in implementation and troubleshooting of complex networks.
- Experience in network analysis with packet capturing tools.
- Experience with Brocade ICX/VDX switches is a plus.
- Wireless LAN - Expert in Aerohive or other wireless access point technology.
- Knowledge of network routing protocols and their use in highly redundant environments.
- Working knowledge of network standards
protocols
security
and applications
local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management.
- Hands-on experience with network equipment including hubs
routers
switches
bridges
firewalls
servers
transmission media
and related hardware.
- Knowledge with network systems design
development
testing
installation
operations
management
and maintenance concepts and methods.
- Needs excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to solve technical issues clearly
- Provide clear technical documentation and written procedures to ensure other members of the support organization can assist in monitoring
troubleshooting
and changing complex customer environments.
- Run network applications testing which may also include running performance tests.
- Implement monitoring and troubleshooting tools to detect platform.
