As the IT MES Specialist (Hybrid), you will bridge the gap between the old world of on-premise systems and the new world of cloud technologies. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining our existing on-premise environment while actively contributing to various projects that drive us towards the cutting-edge of modern infrastructure practices. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects in parallel, delivering system implementations, enhancements, maintenance, troubleshooting and support.
ResponsibilitiesMain responsibilities:
- Part of the MES Domain team that leads the design, development and Implementation of MES/IIoT/OT/SCADA solutions at an Enterprise level.
- Responsible for customer requirements elicitation, requirements documentation, specification development, solution architecture, and design decisions for prioritized projects.
- Effectively works with business stakeholders, implementation partners and development teams to efficiently translate business requirements into appropriate solutions within agreed EA roadmaps.
- Supports Business Information Manager (BIM) or facilitates Solution Architects to support in writing project charters and builds and maintains a close contact with BIM's.
- Coordinates the identification and assessment of new and emerging technologies, products, methods and techniques for the functional domain.
- Collaborates with the wider IT team and business stakeholders to create strategic roadmaps based on business requirements and priorities, ensuring alignment with parallel projects and programs.
- Ensures solutions are scalable and can be sustained with close adherence to reference architectures and standards.
- Manage projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring successful change management and adoption.
- Promote a information security culture in line with Information Security strategy with the business and other stakeholder.
Other responsibilities:
Infrastructure Support and Maintenance:
- Maintain MES and OT systems to maximize production uptime while maintaining conformance with business and corporate requirements. This includes monitoring system health, ensuring system backups are performed, maintaining data integrity, responding to requests, etc.
- Ensure that all infrastructure solutions meet Morgan's quality criteria and adhere to the organisation's defined standards.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve on-premise/cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex technical problems related to on-premise/cloud infrastructure components.
Project Support:
- Assist project teams in the smooth migration of on-premise solutions to the global cloud models, leveraging best practices and in line with Morgan architectural standards.
Operational Standards and Efficiencies:
- Collaborate in the creation of standard operating procedures to standardise workloads and processes, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual interventions.
Testing and Improvement:
- Continuously review and improve runbooks, making recommendations to enhance their reliability, auditability, and maintainability.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Science or Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience implementing, developing and maintaining MES/OT/SCADA systems.
- 3 years of project management experience (including large scale projects and managing multiple projects at one time) in the global manufacturing setting
- Experience developing in Ignition Platform, utilizing MQTT and Data Broker technology (Experience/knowledge of Unified Name Space, event driven architecture is desirable)
- Experience centrally managing multiple global instances of Ignition
- Knowledge of the respective domain and relevant technological developments in the respective technical domain
- Understanding of high level network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and network security.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface at all organizational levels
