Job Description:
- Lead a team of professionals in an application production operation environment to support multiple VertexOne clients in their day-to-day operational application requirements.
- Provide a stable and secure application ecosystem and support the Vertex application platform and service level standards.
- Perform problem identification and resolution as required. Participate in review meetings and change control planning meetings.
- Assess the environment capacity and plan for future enhancements or modifications to the application setup.
- Install, configure, maintain and support Linux operating systems and hardware. Create and examine functional specifications to create requirements.
- Integrate disparate systems and resolve needs of different teams. Operate, maintain, deploy and support the VXcis product.
- Identify and respond to system issues, follow up on issues until resolution, and eliminate the root cause. Support resolution of application issues and requirements from a systems perspective.
- Identify areas of improvement within IT infrastructures.
- Collaborate with other groups and client advocates to maintain systems and deploy regular patches.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT related processes and procedures.
- Implement SAN backup technologies for network storage.
- Deploy and run applications using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE, Ubuntu and IBM AS/400 and IBM AIX in the utilities industry.
- Perform systems monitoring and maintenance using tools such as ELK Stack, PRTG and Azure. Utilize BICEP scripting language to build Azure infrastructure.
- Support utility billing software using technologies such as JBoss Middleware, ANT, Vcloud and SVN.
- Remote (position requires 100% telecommuting; employee’s work location can be anywhere in the United States)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related.
Experience Requirement:
5 years of experience as systems administrator, infrastructure engineer or related.
Special Skills:
Must have work experience with each of the following:
(1) deploy and run applications using Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE, Ubuntu and IBM AS/400 and IBM AIX in the utilities industry
(2) implement SAN backup technologies for network storage
(3) perform systems monitoring and maintenance using tools such as ELK Stack, PRTG and Azure; (4) support utility billing software using technologies such as JBoss Middleware, ANT, Vcloud and SVN
(5) utilize BICEP scripting language to build Azure infrastructure.
