Job Description: IT Manager
We are a company deeply involved in the food industry, engaged in the import, distribution, and production of specialty foods. We are currently in search of a committed and seasoned IT manager who can take charge of our IT department. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the smooth, efficient operation of our IT systems, which must be closely aligned with our business goals, especially within the multifaceted and ever-evolving food industry. The IT Manager will play a crucial role in comprehending our expanding business requirements and identifying areas where our primary ERP and WMS platforms can bridge capability gaps. This individual will collaborate closely with leaders across all departments to achieve these objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IT Planning:
Create, implement, and oversee IT strategies that support both the company's manufacturing and broader business operations, ensuring alignment with the unique needs and challenges.
System Management:
Ensure consistent operation of all IT systems and applications.
Regularly review and upgrade systems to keep them optimized and current.
Network Management:
Manage and maintain internal and external network systems, ensuring maximum uptime, security, and optimal performance.
Data Management:
Safeguard company and customer data through regular backups, robust cybersecurity measures, and ensuring data integrity.
Vendor Relations:
Build and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring that we get the best value and service for our investments.
Budgetary Oversight:
Develop and manage the IT budget, driving cost-effectiveness and return on investment.
Employee Training:
Facilitate training sessions to ensure all staff are comfortable with new and existing technologies.
Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure IT operations comply with industry standards, especially those unique to food manufacturing, and stay updated with New York-specific regulations related to data privacy and protection.
Disaster Recovery:
Design and execute disaster recovery protocols, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in emergency situations.
Best Practices and Security Architecture:
Define and implement best practices for user provisioning, security architecture, and automation to ensure the highest levels of data protection and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to automate IT processes, enhancing productivity and reducing manual interventions.
Business Intelligence Solutions:
Develop and present business intelligence solutions to execute leadership, effectively communicating the value and impact of IT initiatives.
Generate excitement and gain concessions for IT projects that align with strategic goals and enhance the company’s competitive advantage.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field is required master’s degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the IT field is essential, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the food industry.
3. Strong grasp of computer systems, networks, great plains, WMS operating systems, road net routing software, ALJEX TMS software, security protocols, databases, and data storage systems are necessary.
4. Demonstrated expertise in IT project management and the ability to develop effective IT strategies.
5. Strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, presentation skills, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
6. A solid understanding of financial concepts, with a preference for candidates who have experience in the food industry
7. Proficiency in data analytics, enabling effective data-driven decision-making
