Position Title: IT Manager
Hours: Full-time, days, some occasional weekend and/or evening hours
Supervisor: Chief Financial Officer
Classification: Exempt, salaried position
SUMMARY
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the technical needs of HSHV staff and departments. This position involves working in conjunction with HSHV’s technical IT vendors.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The IT Manager must be comfortable working independently, as well as providing great customer service to all levels of staff and departments. This position requires strong attention to detail, communication skills and follow-through.
Must have a high level of comfort with technology and Windows desktop support. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 use and administration, Windows, printers and pheripherials, active directory, DNS, and BIOS settings. SharePoint administration knowledge or experience preferred. Experience with physical hardware, PC or laptop, repair preferred. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Flexibility in work schedule a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ideally, the person in this position would have experience with group policies, DHCP, and CompTIA A+ certification.
An animal care facility can be an emotionally challenging, high-stress, rapidly changing, and high-demand environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide basic IT support for end user/staff assistance.
- Oversight of IT vendor and support tickets to ensure prompt and thorough completion. Identify any root causes. Prioritize as needed to ensure the organization’s priorities are met.
- Perform regular rounds at both HSHV locations to track concerns and proactively identify emergent issues.
- Work with the IT vendor to ensure stable and reliable systems and network infrastructure, including internet service.
- Oversee documentation and protocol development for technology infrastructure, best practices, and user instructions.
- Ensure accurate and thorough policies and procedure, in accordance with HSHV’s process and SOP system. Communicate changes in SOPs to staff,
- Perform and monitor regular maintenance tasks related to both desktop/workstation support and network (e.g. updates, drivers).
- Track user concerns, needs and suggestions.
- Set department annual goals and budget.
- Assist with necessary staff technical training.
- Act as the administrator for the phone system.
- Assist in the administration of the agency’s SharePoint system.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is performed in office and shelter surroundings. While performing this job, you must regularly move around the office, shelter and community to coordinate activities. Regular positions include sitting at a computer station for long periods, walking and standing; bending, reaching, holding, grasping and turning objects, and using fingers to operate a phone, computer keyboard, camera and other training equipment as necessary. While performing this job, you must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position’s work requires the ability to speak in a manner which is highly coherent to others; the ability to see (near) paperwork, computer screens and (distance) presentations; and the ability to hear and comprehend others. You will be exposed to the shelter setting, including disinfectant solutions used within the shelter. You will be consistently exposed to animals and animal allergens. You may also be subject to potential danger including parasites and infectious diseases, animal bites and scratches.
