JOB SUMMARY
AS A MEMBER OF THE SCI IT TEAM, THE IT HELPDESK & WINDOWS SPECIALIST REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE IT MANAGER AND WILL PERFORM VARIOUS FUNCTIONS SUPPORTING THE IT DEPARTMENT. THE POSITION RANGES FROM DESKTOP SUPPORT TO HARDWARE REPAIR TO JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION. ON TOP OF STANDARD HELPDESK RESPONSIBILITIES, THE ROLE INCLUDES SERVER/SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT AND MAINTENANCE.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•FLEXIBILITY IN WORKING WITH APPLE AND MS TECHNOLOGIES
•ABILITY TO LEARN NEW SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE TECHNOLOGIES
•SUPERIOR DOCUMENTATION SKILLS
•ABILITY TO WORK AS A TEAM AND INDEPENDENTLY
•MUST SUPPORT THE IT TEAM IN THE MAINTENANCE OF HARDWARE, SOFTWARE AND OTHER SYSTEMS
•MUST BE ABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT ISSUES WITH EQUIPMENT LIKE PRINTERS, COMPUTERS AND SERVERS
•ASSIST USERS WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES AND RESOLVING TICKETS
•ABLE TO RUN REGULARLY SCHEDULED SOFTWARE UPDATES, BACKUPS, AND MAINTENANCE
•EVALUATING CURRENT IT SYSTEMS, INCLUDING HARDWARE, SOFTWARE, AND NETWORK FEATURES
•COLLABORATING WITH THE IT TEAM TO IMPLEMENT NEW SYSTEMS AND PROJECTS
•USING PROJECT TRACKING TO TRACK PROGRESS AND ANY SETBACKS
•PREPARING/DEPLOYING/MAINTAINING WINDOWS SERVERS AND SYSTEMS
•KEEPING UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS
•GAINING INCREASED EXPERTISE IN WINDOWS TECHNOLOGIES AND ECOSYSTEM
EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
AT LEAST 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MAC/PC DESKTOP SUPPORT, TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
•MUST BE WELL VERSED IN NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES AND PROTOCOLS, TO INCLUDE NETWORK DEVICE MANAGMENT
•MUST BE OPEN TO LEARNING NEW TECHNOLOGIES - EXPERIENCE IN POWERSHELL A PLUS!
•MUST POSSESS STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS, BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL.
•NEED INTERMEDIATE KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE IN WINDOWS SERVER ADMINISTRATION (DNS/DHCP)
•EXPERIENCE IN ACTIVE DIRECTORY AND GROUP POLICY A MUST
•EXPERIENCE WORKING IN HYBRID OS ENVIRONMENTS PREFERRED
