The IT Helpdesk Intern plays a crucial role in gaining practical experience within an Agile environment, focusing on assisting in the support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. This position actively participates in daily Scrum stand-ups, collaborates with cross-functional team members, and follows Agile principles to contribute to efficient problem resolution and continuous improvement. The IT Helpdesk Intern provides assistance in diagnosing and resolving user issues, ensures adherence to IT policies, and actively engages in the IT support lifecycle within Agile principles.
Essential Position Functions
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving user issues, actively participating in daily Scrum events.
- Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures, aligning activities.
- Collaborate with IT team members to provide timely and effective support, fostering Agile teamwork.
- Assist in handling and resolving IT support tickets using appropriate tools and methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with users, providing assistance in a user-friendly manner.
- Support IT inventory management activities, ensuring accurate tracking of assets.
- Contribute to research efforts into emerging technologies supporting IT helpdesk functions.
- Assist in documenting IT processes and troubleshooting procedures.
- Develop web-based applications, following the software development lifecycle, and actively participating in Scrum events.
- Work collaboratively with the database administrator to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to web-based applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing web-based applications and websites.
- Conduct research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of development efforts, contributing to Agile continuous improvement.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, aligning activities.
- Enrolled in an associate degree program in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Exposure to or basic experience with IT support functions, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Exposure to or basic development of effective written and oral communication skills.
- Exposure to or basic development of collaborative teamwork skills.
- Aptitude for developing problem-solving skills in an IT support context.
- Within 60 days of employment, obtain basic Scrum awareness certification (Certified Scrum Developer and/or Professional Scrum Master) to understand Agile principles and practices within IT support environments.
