IT Desktop Support
$20 - $24 an hour depending on experience

We are a well established company based out of Portland, near the airport.
Position Overview:
The IT Desktop Support will work alongside the Systems Administrator to ensure continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise, assistance and project coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware, computer set-up, repair and replacement, as well as resolve technical problems.
This position requires exceptional technical knowledge of the various Microsoft Windows operating systems, software installation procedures, hardware diagnostics, and advanced software troubleshooting.
Primary Job Duties:
- Communicate with Team Members via phone, email, and in-person to accurately assess and completely resolve their trouble ticket(s).
- Process machines on the workbench by conducting a backup, OS reinstall, data restoration and any application re-installations using a variety of enterprise deployment tools.
- Diagnose and repair computer component failures, including processing equipment RMAs.
- Research, document, and develop solutions for various software or configuration issues.
- Create and modify online documentation for common or recurring issues.
- Provide onsite assistance for trouble tickets that are too complex or time consuming for front-line phone support to resolve.
- Deploy replacement systems to staff.
- Processing and delivery of old equipment to surplus.
- Secure erasing of hard drives and other data storage devices.
- Manage inventory of new and used computers, monitors, and surplus equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience building and repairing personal computers.
- Firm understanding of basic networking and related troubleshooting.
- Desire to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to think on your feet to diagnose complex issues and explain technical issues to non-technical customers.
- Motivated, self-starter
Preferred Experience:
- Professional experience using and configuring Windows workstations.
- Experience using an Operating Systems Deployment tool
- Networking knowledge utilizing Microsoft’s Active Directory.
- Comprehensive experience installing and configuring a variety of software applications or suites.
- Previous experience configuring external peripherals (e.g. printers, scanners, cameras, audio equipment, etc.).
- Scripting experience strongly desired
- Previous experience using remote connection/remote assistance tools.
