The Quality Engineering team at KinderCare is looking for a IT Automation and Quality Engineer to help drive quality initiatives around billing and payment products. This is a fast-paced, Agile team working super collaboratively with a fun and friendly delivery team.
In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help ensure successful delivery of sprint work with two different technology sets. We are investing in our tuition/billing front end system to remain at the forefront of the technology curve. We're looking for someone to help deliver quality in the fastest, most measurable way including standard definition, execution of test plans, definition of test automation, communicating risk, and reporting of status and results. You'll also get immersed in behavior driven testing, GWT testcase definition, and DevOps organization implementing the latest technologies!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Align IT-QE initiatives with the overarching business strategy while actively contributing to the formulation and execution of IT-QE strategies that align with and further organizational goals.
- Collaborate with QE team members to identify existing manual and automated test scripts that will be impacted through the development of new features and capabilities. Perform manual and automated test scripts to validate the acceptance criteria defined within the epics and user stories.
- Identify risks impacting the timely delivery of product and collaborate with product team to plan mitigation strategies. Define the testing plan and approach to validate new or enhanced functionality by adapting risk-coverage testing. Implement risk coverage Testing by developing and executing test cases, with a focus on validating the business-critical functionality. Actively participate in retrospective reviews to find opportunities for refining and advancing the risk-coverage testing process.
- Develop, organize, and maintain test suites (both manual and Automation) using specified automation framework/tools. Participate in peer reviews of Gherkins feature files for test coverage. Monitor and report on testing progress, promptly addressing any deviations from the established testing plan.
- Develop and Implement Tests to validate functionality, performance, and reliability through APIs, automated API tests to ensure continuous integration and delivery, performance tests to assess the scalability and responsiveness of back-end systems and APIs
- Create defects with detailed information for the failed test case/scenario with supporting documentation (screenshots, environment details, log files, etc.) in Bug management tool. Ensure the identified defects are prioritized for resolution.
- Proficient in Agile testing methodologies, demonstrating a solid understanding of the software development life cycle and testing methodologies in a Quality Engineer role.
- 6 years of professional experience as a Quality Engineer, specializing in risk-based and behavior-driven testing.
- 2 years of experience in back-end and API testing using tools like Postman and RestAssured.
- 1 year(s) of working experience in scripting languages (C# or Javascript).
- 1 year(s) of experience in writing SQL queries and working with Microsoft SQL/SQL Server.
