IT Assistant - Internship

The Tenova Inc. internship program is designed to "test the waters" of working in the engineering and steelmaking industry. You will spend your summer working in a specific department on meaningful projects, establishing an understanding of Tenova's culture and processes, as well as developing a business mindset.
The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities. Throughout the program, you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at Tenova through valuable project work.
All internships last approximately 12 weeks. Your start/end date can vary based on your final exam schedule and needs. Internships are paid and designed to be a step towards joining Tenova with an entry-level position upon graduation.
You will be involved in supporting the ITTeam in implementing and populating an Asset Management program for IT equipment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT asset management and contribute to the organization and efficiency of our technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the IT team to define asset management requirements and objectives.
- Implement an asset management system and set up relevant databases or software.
- Populate the system with accurate information about all IT equipment, including hardware and software.
- Establish procedures and documentation for asset tracking and management.
- Assist in performing periodic audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
- Add all IT equipment (laptops, monitors, docking stations, servers, switches) to the program including purchase price and date.
- Re-label IT equipment with new laptops that include barcodes.
To become an intern with Tenova, there are a few key things you'll need to have/had:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- enthusiasm for IT asset management and a keen interest in technology.
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Basic knowledge of IT equipment and software.
Job Type: Part-time, max 30 hrs
Salary: $15 per hour
