iOS - Member of Technical Staff
Like to shake things up? We do! The Recommendations Team is reinventing suggested products at eBay!
We are creating innovative solutions to optimize recommendations and exploration experiences on eBay. Our goal is to build value for buyers and sellers, while also driving performance. To that end, we are innovating rapidly in the Recommendations space and there is no shortage of new challenges for motivated individuals. In this role, you will work closely with designers, product managers and other engineers (iOS, Android, frontend, backend, machine learning, quality) to redefine product suggestions for eBay.
Role Description
Join us in crafting the future of eBay Recommendations! Be an integral part of the team building out our product suggestion platform – a foundation of eBay marketplace.
You will be actively involved in all aspects of development. We’re a very collaborative team, we highly value initiative, enthusiasm and passion for building high-quality software. The problems we are solving are sophisticated. Resourcefulness, desire to learn and openness to change are a must. We work in an agile environment with emphasis on developer empowerment and teamwork.
You will also be expected to
Mentor junior developers
Set expectations for high quality code that is scalable and easy to read and maintain
Design and build reliable solutions for high-throughput, distributed systems using third-party and eBay internal libraries and frameworks
Integrate closely w/ colleagues in different functional groups and remote offices
Communicate optimally within your team and across teams
Balance strong ownership and teamwork
Research, innovate, deliver and grow
Job Requirements
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 5+ years work experience or MS with 4 years of relevant experience
Experience developing iOS applications & commercial software with Objective C and Swift
A strong background in design patterns and overall code architecture
Strong unit test writing and automation skills
Nice to have: experience with Jira (or other issue tracking software), familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger, exposure to the Agile process
Experience with Xcode, Git, profilers and debuggers
Experience integrating with web services & using HTTP, TCP/IP and databases
Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
Code samples from private GitHub repos, side projects, and open source project contributions is a plus
