Job description

ATF is a law enforcement agency in the U.S. Department of Justice that protects our communities from violent criminals/criminal organizations, illegal use/trafficking of firearms, illegal use/storage of explosives, acts of arson/bombings, acts of terrorism, and illegal diversion of alcohol/tobacco products. Qualifications:

To qualify for the GS-1805-7 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-5.
GS-7 You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:

  • Conducting basic investigative research; and
  • Gathering and assembling material for use in routine reports; and
  • Composing non-technical correspondence.

OR
Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.
OR
A combination of graduate level education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
To qualify for the GS-1805-9 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-7.

GS-9 You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:

  • Conducting analytical investigative research; and
  • Assisting with trend analysis analyses and statistical studies for any organization; and
  • Summarizing reports and extracting essential intelligence information to create cohesive reports.

OR

Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related

OR

A combination of graduate education and experience. This will be calculated using your rsum and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
