Job description

TheInventory Specialist supports the business by developing, implementing, and maintaining inventory management practices and procedures related to Fleet Management Inventory. They will work cross-functionally to oversee and optimize our inventory control processes to ensure efficient and accurate management of inventory. To include, but not limited to, identifying and maintaining appropriate stock levels and ensuring minimum inventory levels for key spare parts and components to support fleet uptime.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Use previous knowledge and experience to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of all procedures and protocols related to fleet inventory management
  • Inventory Monitoring; Identify and manage appropriate safe stock levels of fleet-related inventory, understand and interpret trends in inventory usage to pivot as needed
  • Develop, implement, and oversee cycle count program, and implementation of visual and systemic tracking
  • Process Improvement; guide and execute the continual expansion and improvement of the Fleet Management inventory database
  • Keep the inventory database up to date with precise and detailed information
  • Verify and enter material usage data to ensure accurate stock levels
  • Train less experienced team members in best practices related to inventory management
  • Identify problematic assets and coordinate with relevant teams for necessary repairs or follow-up actions
  • Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and organized storage of assets in designated locations for easy retrieval and tracking
  • Assist in tracking, acquiring, and disposing of supplies and non-inventory items to prevent excess accumulation or shortages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address aged inventory appropriately
  • Support identifying and onboarding new fleet vendors and maintaining current fleet-related vendor relations
  • Placing and receiving fleet-related orders in the procurement system
  • Using knowledge and experience, continuously assess current processes and practices and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Share Shipping & Receiving duties
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Traveling by air is required. Travel in a company vehicle may occasionally be required.

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in inventory management, including tracking, auditing, and maintaining accurate records of various inventory assets
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and databases to update and maintain asset information and interpret trends.
  • Proficient using G Suite or equivalent Microsoft program suite (Focus on Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar)
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Proficient basic math skills
  • The ability to understand and interpret diagrams and schematics
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and address damaged or problematic assets and coordinate necessary repairs or actions
  • Exemplary organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on project needs
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors

Bonus Points (not required):

  • Inventory management experience in Aviation, Robotics, IT, or Fleet management industries
  • Exceptional attention to detail to conduct precise physical counts, identify discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of inventory records
  • Experience developing, implementing, and documenting new processes
  • Intermediate to advanced project management skills
  • A healthy sense of curiosity

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and at times for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance and reach.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move heavy packages but will have use of moving equipment such as a: pallet jack, dolly, or rolling cart.
  • The ability to operate roll-up garage, trailer, or vehicle doors will be required.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach. Frequently required to sit, talk or hear.

Working Environment

  • The incumbent typically works in a temperature-controlled garage environment and uses various hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a garage.
  • Incumbents may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, road conditions, and pedestrian traffic.
  • The team member is regularly exposed to mechanical and computer parts. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.

Salary Range

$65,000—$82,200 USD
