Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist performs various functions ensuring compliance of inventory procedures, accuracy, reconciliation of inventory, and general functions of the department. Key to the success of Inventory Control Specialist is the ability to effectively work and interact with representatives of various departments (Operations, Materials, Accounting, Purchasing, QA, Marketing, Consumer Support, and Engineering) to ensure submitted documentation is accurate and to resolve inventory related issues.
What you'll do
- Conduct scheduled cycles within their team (Warehouse, Fabrication and/or Manufacturing) to ensure overall accuracy of inventory is maintained throughout the year
- Conduct unscheduled cycle counts (back orders, cogi's, inventory discrepancies, and stock out report, MII remnant correction, and buyer planner request count) and investigate root cause for variances
- Receive/Investigate all warehouse STO/PO/Drop Ship receipts and short ship investigations to and from WFD
- Monitor Inbound internal and external deliveries on both EWM and IM sides. Looking for any missed receipts, deliveries created in error, failed EWM deliveries
- Conduct all manual SAP EWM and IM movements and issues. This includes all MTR's, hot transfers, purges, combo rolls, inventory corrections, vendor transfers, other HD site transfers/goods issues and additional miscellaneous movements
- Conduct the coordination of the NMR process with QA, Purchasing, and Warehouse personnel on all NMR activities
- Conduct the return STO/PO movements of material (physical and system)
- Analyze discrepancies within interim bins (GR-ZONE, PRD-ZONE, RCVHOT, MOVING, TEMP, GI-ZONE, ETC.)
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
Basic knowledge of SAP, EWM, IM, MII, ME, COOIS and COGI's, as it applies to Inventory Control applications.
Basic Knowledgeof BOM's and routings to discern correct values (ie, scrap, usage, etc..) are loaded in SAP to drive accurate back flushing.
- Intermediate Knowledgein Excel and Smart Sheets
Basic knowledge regarding the concepts, business principles, procedures, and practices of Inventory Control and warehouse management.
Ability to support a team environment that communicates effectively and forms positive relationships internally and externally.
Ability to analyze, with strong problem solving skills.
Ability to stay current on inventory and materials management processes for the business
Ability to proofread numerical information to spot and correct errors
Abilityto prepare, schedule and lead a meeting. Keeping the agenda focused to the task on hand, preparing meeting notes, following up on task completion and follow up communications back to Meeting members.
Ability to respond to requests and inquiries for information in a timely fashion
