Description
GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
The Inventory Control Coordinator ensures necessary parts and equipment are available at an assigned district location by providing accurate, efficient, and expeditious service to end customers. This position is technical in nature and responds to a variety of scenarios ranging from routine parts orders and Inventory Control tasks to coordinating emergency supplies in case of equipment breakdowns.

  • Follows all parts processing procedures to ensure that on-time and cost-effective shipping/delivery and parts storage/utilization practices are in place and are being followed at an assigned district.
  • Oversees established parts Inventory Control processes, ensuring that appropriate inventory levels and shop supplies are being maintained and established parts reporting/ordering procedures and recordkeeping requirements are being met in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Evaluates existing parts supply and support chain methodologies to determine the effectiveness, efficiency, and end-user customer satisfaction of the parts functions.
  • Maintains compliance with all corporate policies and procedures pertaining to the day-to-day parts functions at assigned district.
  • Prepares and processes returns of repair items to the Salem, OR District using Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) as required.
  • Maintains parts and equipment storage in a clean, organized, and orderly fashion.
  • Assists with technical aspects and/or clarifications of any parts related problems/complaints at assigned district when needed.
  • Prepares warranty returns to the factory as directed by District Service Manager or Inventory Control Manager.
  • Prepares and conducts annual or periodic inventory audits and counts at assigned district as directed by Inventory Control Manager.
  • Delivers parts to the field technicians and customers when needed.
  • Following of all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE as required, including hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, arc flash, etc.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, which includes wearing of Company supplied MEC Branded shirts or FR uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Understanding and compliance with Company policies, OSHA, Applicable ASME B30 safety standards, State and local specific safety regulations, and site-specific safety plans as they apply to crane and hoist erection, dismantle, climbing, maintenance and repair.
  • Notifies the Shop Foreman or District Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
  • Responsible for timely completion and submission of required paperwork and reports to the Corporate office.
  • Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foremen.

Requirements
TECHNICAL SKILLS/LICENSES:
  • Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Maintain valid state driver's license and be insurable by the company's carrier.
  • Ability to safely operate all yard and shop equipment.
  • May be required to have previous parts management, Inventory Control, and/or maintenance experience is preferred
  • May be required to have a Forklift operator's license.
  • May be required to have Rigging
  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Protective clothing/equipment that may be required include MEC issued uniform, work shoes or boots with slip and puncture resistant soles, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, rubber electrical gloves, lanyard, harness and fall protection.
