Job Description
Inventory Control Specialist Responsibilities:
Maintains consistent stock of inventory and understanding the min and max as inventory dwindles.
Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of restocking
Understand inventory system, share information and improvement to the department under the direction of the Inventory Control manager.
Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
Understand the inventory and system flow. Ability to analyze and identify root cause of the problem.
Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
Operates forklift truck when necessary.
Detailed oriented.
Performs other related duties as requested.
Ensure proper inventory storage and condition.
Auditor Responsibilities- Inbound
Lumber Yard -Matching and comparing manifest to our PO to make sure product matches the PO (both quantity and item)
Location verification of all SO items
Making sure the items are marked the month it was received except for treated material and certain items.
Mill Work- Also responsible for inbound audits for Mill Work. Identifying SO, Style and specification of the product.
Matching all SO to the style with no deviations.
Location verification. Auditing to make sure all products match the assigned location.
Auditors Responsibility- Outbound
Understanding the product and style requested by the customer.
Verifying and auditing all picked material staged to be shipped to the customer.
Reporting and documenting all variance to the lead or supervisor immediately.
Identify trends in pick or product error~
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
Basic understanding of Inventory Control procedures.
Proficient keyboarding skills.
Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
Forklift operator certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of walking during work hours.
Able to lift weights of up to 40 pounds individually.
Must be able to navigate work areas and reach items both high and low.
