Job Summary:
The Inventory & Warehouse Clerk, located in Oak Ridge, TN, is expected to conduct cycle counts of inventory assigned to the designated area, pick all production kits by designated time, work with Supply Chain to identify and correct inventory errors, keep the warehouse organized and clean, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties
- Accepting or rejecting incoming materials to warehouse by visual inspection of packaging.
- Interacts with all departments regarding shipments and paperwork.
- Examines goods for defects or deficiencies, verifies completeness of goods and orders for packaging through comparison of paperwork. Records packaging information and completes paperwork.
- Ensures that packing lists are authorized, and all required transactions are performed either via SAP generated shipper or manual shipper.
- Generates stock labels and adheres them to bags or boxes.
- Deliver material to workstations (cells) ensuring Assemblers always have adequate supplies of materials. Continuous replenishment is required.
- Maintain inventory of stock
- Record the storage, retrieval, and distribution of all material, via data entry in SAP.
- Perform inventory reconciliation.
- Transfer material from Incoming Inspection to designated storage areas.
- Retrieve material for cell members or production planners.
- Perform daily cycle counts of stored inventory; maintain information via SAP database and reconcile discrepancies.
- Fill production shortages and pull subcontracted material.

EDUCATION
Education and training requirements are important in an Inventory Clerk’s job description. They prove that a candidate has the necessary academic and training requirements to complete the job. In this regard, a candidate should have a basic high school diploma or GED equivalent. They should have knowledge of computer applications and basic mathematics and computer skills. An associate degree in business or related field is an added bonus to a candidate seeking promotion opportunities.
EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have experience with spreadsheet and database software like Microsoft Excel. One to two years' experience working in like position is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to pass the pre-employment physical and perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires significant physical activity with considerable stooping and lifting. Must demonstrate ability to repetitively lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally physically lift and move parts weighing up to 180 pounds with the aid of floor jack or like equipment, and work on feet for 8 hours.
