Coordinate sponsored international student programs for non-degree study at Georgia Tech, plan and implement short programs and activities for visiting student groups, and conduct intercultural learning workshops and activities. This includes all student advising, data management, program recruitment, and activities that promote retention. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, students, visitors, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, students, visitors, and staff. ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Plan and run all excursions, receptions, and other events for the programs and groups.
Job Duty 2 -
Plan intercultural workshops, handle logistics, and co-facilitate workshops and other intercultural learning opportunities for GT students.
Job Duty 3 -
Serve as main contact to provide information and advising to prospective and current students of the Special Programs.
Job Duty 4 -
Seek and advise organizations and universities about opportunities for non-degree international student programs.
Job Duty 5 -
Serve as primary liaison with the host academic unit(s).
Job Duty 6 -
Develop and administer surveys and other tools to assess the effectiveness of the programs and student satisfaction.
Job Duty 7 -
Provide administrative support.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in a second language is preferred. The ability to use social media to recruit, advise, and retain is also preferred.
SKILLS
This job requires specialized skills in international student advising, study abroad advising, or academic advising with experience working with culturally-diverse groups. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively is required. Use of office computer applications is required.
