ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Atlanta International School (AIS) offers the full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum to all students, from 3K through grade 12. SUMMARY

The Auxiliary Program Coordinator will supervise, organize, maintain, and promote the after-school and summer programs at Atlanta International School. This is a salaried full-time, 12-month position.

 

Department: Auxiliary Programs and Services

Reports to: Kaleidoscope Manager

Hours: 10:30 AM-6:30 PM

Start Date: February 1, 2024

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  • Supports and advances the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the school.
  • Supports and promotes the goals of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
  • Supports and advances international education.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

In the area of Leadership, The Auxiliary Program Coordinator:

 

  • Develops and nurtures an internationally-minded, balanced, positive, and safe school climate within the scope of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Close daily and help run daily operations.
  • Collaborates with the Kaleidoscope Manager for the recruitment and management of Kaleidoscope program staff.
  • Documents and supports staff in curriculum implementation, behavioral and classroom management issues, and incidents.
  • Maintains accurate and daily attendance records.
  • Maintains documentation related to first aid, injury, and incident reports.
  • Models best child care practices in the classroom.
  • Plans and leads all activities for camps.

In the areas of Professional Growth Leadership, The Auxiliary Program Coordinator:

 

Personal Professional Growth

 

  • Develops and meets personal, annual measurable professional goals (SMART Goals) as part of Atlanta International School’s staff professional growth process.
  • Solicits group feedback about personal effectiveness in their role as Auxiliary Coordinator through an annual self-appraisal through a survey instrument tied to Auxiliary Coordinator performance standards and indicators.
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with legal, ethical, and professional standards, engages in continuous professional development, and contributes to the profession.

 

In the area of Communications and Community Relations, The Auxiliary Program Coordinator:

 

  • Maintains high visibility and accessibility to staff, faculty, parents, and other stakeholders at Atlanta International School.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively to engage all stakeholders, thus promoting understanding, support, and continuous improvement of Auxiliary Programs in alignment with the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Atlanta International School.
  • Ensures the dissemination of Auxiliary Program information in a timely manner to staff and parents through appropriate sources.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS 

 

It is expected that candidates for this position will be a positive, energetic professional who has demonstrated their ability to organize multiple programs and lead staff to encourage students to learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and nurturing environment outside of the classroom.

 

  • Sense of humor.
  • Ability to adapt to a readily changing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership within an educational context.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with children in a structured learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the desire to work collaboratively with the community of Atlanta International School and the wider community.
  • Experience in developing and implementing activities for Grades 3K-5.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Be able to keep up with the physical demands of active children
  • Organized, flexible, passionate & dependable
  • Able to work well with others on a team, and with a variety of personalities
  • Leadership qualities self - motivated while being group-minded
  • Prior experience working with children ages 3 -12
