SY 23-24 Academies Coordinator, International Baccalaureate Program

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for providing leadership in the ongoing development, management, and evaluation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at the assigned school.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SALARY SCHEDULE: Teacher
WORK DAYS: 190
REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education Level: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Preferred: Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
2. Experience, Skill and Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field in one or more content areas.
3. At least five successful years as a teacher at the level of the available position.

Preferred: Certification as a Coordinator by the International Baccalaureate Organization, or IBO training and Gifted endorsement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Maintains all responsibilities of primary position at an acceptable level of performance.
2. Assists the Principal and central office staff in evaluating the IB program.
3. Communicates with parents and community about goals and purposes of the IB program.
4. Ensures compliance with IB regulations.
5. Assists in the development and administration of the program budget.
6. Assists in the development of the school master schedule.
7. Coordinates all IB assessment activities.
8. Meets with Grade Level and Department Teams to foster the development of the IB curriculum.
9. Models exemplary lessons for teachers.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 190 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification an allowable experience.
