The School of International Service's Office of International Programs (SIS Abroad) seeks a highly motivated candidate to serve as Office Assistant with a focus on programming support. Responsibilities include processing application materials for both outgoing and incoming study abroad students; assisting with information sessions and pre-departure orientations; establishing creative new ways to engage with students; supporting staff with program development planning related to international faculty-led programming, and brainstorming ideas for the Office of International Program's social media platforms. The Graduate Assistant will report to the Study Abroad Advisor. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Office of International Program's team. Responsibilities include processing foreign transcripts and updating course information in a database, processing application materials, and assisting with event planning and coordination. Provide support for initial student contact via email and phone; Other administrative duties as assigned by the Study Abroad Advisor.
- $17.00 - $17.75/hour.
- This position is restricted to students with a Federal Work Study Award.
- The incumbent must be an enrolled student, preferably a graduate student or senior undergraduate student.
- Candidates must be reliable, detail-oriented, and flexible, and have the ability to both multi-task and work independently on assigned projects.
- Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and someone who is a self-starter that is willing to take initiative.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and use of Google platforms.
- Experience with social media.
- Interest in international education or experiential education is highly desired.
- Office or administrative experience with experience specifically in website content management and marketing/promotional efforts.
- The SIS Office of International Programs is made up of a small team of professionals in the study abroad and international education field. The team establishes international partnerships and programs around the world and works with both domestic students going abroad and international students coming to SIS. The Office's program and partnership activities take place across the globe. Sample locations include: Japan, Korea, France, Switzerland, Norway, Peru, and Costa Rica.
