Job description

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week, paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company.  Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. In addition, through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key concepts within the divisional tracks of Information Technology, Actuarial, Analytics & Data, Clinical Studies, web-based Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical based degree programs. 

  • This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). 
  • May reside in either a technical or non-technical area
  • Development events are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment. 
  • Housing is not provided as part of our program. 

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Within this role, you will be working with a group of interns within the Analytics & Data and Information Technology areas on a couple of divisional projects to review the opportunity, work through options, and propose solutions.

  • Works with a technical mentor and provides support to key strategic projects.
  • Responsible for work assignments and possible responsibilities that vary according to business need and departmental opportunities, in addition to student’s qualifications
  • Duties will vary with assignment, specific divisional callouts are listed below
  • Functions performed are technical in nature and will cover a broad range of business-related projects
  • Creates and delivers presentation at completion of internship
  • Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
  • Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Our ideal candidate will have experience with working in a matrixed environment and strong communication & collaboration skills

Desired majors include: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computing Security, Data and Analytics, Information Management

Information Technology-Specific:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and deliver high quality work product.
  • Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with a strong attention to detail.

General Technical:

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing their assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of their own skill and team functioning.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams where needed. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a computer for two or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to use a phone and/or TTD as needed.
