OVERVIEW

Crestron Electronics continues to experience rapid growth as we invest in resources and create new opportunities; as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for aSummer 2024Intern to join our Engineering Services department in Rockleigh, NJ. This role is designated for a 100% onsite arrangement. Candidates must be commutable to Rockleigh, NJ.

Crestron Interns and Co-Ops can expect to be challenged with meaningful projects and tasks alongside professionals and subject matter experts in the field. Interns and Co-Ops are assigned a dedicated mentor who will be responsible for their development and acclimation to the company. Crestron will also provide a variety of training and networking opportunities to participants in the program, seeking to present participants with a comprehensive experience that enhances technical and non-technical skill sets and to prepare students for their professional careers. RESPONSIBILITIES

An intern on the Mechanical Engineering Team can expect to be responsible for:

  • Design and develop electronic products.
  • Work on improvements to our products.
  • Assist in research and development of new, innovative technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams of Electrical, Firmware, and Production Engineering.
  • Build physical prototypes to evaluate and test performance.
  • Perform tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Generate engineering documentation, mechanical drawings, and bill of materials.
  • Perform design validation and product testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

General Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a Junior/Senior in a college or university working toward a bachelors/master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during the entire internship period.
  • Must be able to commute to and from the Rockleigh, NJ area for the duration of the internship period.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear if/when needed to perform a task.
  • Must be able to operate small hand tools.
  • Must have permanent, unrestricted work authorization in the United States now and in the future.

 

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
  • Interest or understanding of mechanical aspects of electronics devices.
  • Interest or ability to conduct tests and to design parts and assemblies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Positive professional attitude.

 

Other Skills:

  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Inquisitive individual with a desire to learn, possessing a long-term desire to work in the Mechanical Design/Verification space.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Positive, personable, and able to work cohesively with others across various departments.
