Hourly rate: $16.10/Hr

Anticipated Start Date: Mid-June 2023

Length of Internship: 10 Weeks

Base of Designation/Remote Eligible: Washington, DC / Remote


World Learning seeks a Summer Intern to support the Global Networks Team. The intern will assist with the administration, implementation, and/or monitoring of international exchange programs for both foreign and American participants.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the recruitment, documentation, review, and selection of participants for programs;
  • Conduct research to identify appropriate program components and assist in the preparation of programs and conferences;
  • Develop prospective program and conference calendars and itineraries and arrange professional appointments, speakers, and other programming sessions;
  • Coordinate with local sponsors to formulate and implement programs outside of Washington, DC;
  • Assist in preparing briefing books, registration packets, and program materials for participants;
  • Assist in data entry, program documentation, and maintenance of records;
  • Contribute to the team’s social media strategy and website development efforts; and
  • Handle other assigned tasks as needed and requested by the team.
Requirements

Required Experience/Education:

  • Current undergraduates in junior or senior year, current graduate students, or recent graduates;
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Required Skills:

  • International travel/work experience;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Foreign language skills desired;
  • Website development skills desired.

  • A curiosity about World Learning as a whole, with the aim of being able to effectively represent the organization to external audiences commensurate with the position.
  • Commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices in program implementation and monitoring practices and challenging practices which may be exclusionary.


Vaccination is strongly recommended for all employees in our U.S. offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty are strongly encouraged to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility.
