Core Tasks:
As a Finance Intern, you will have the chance to apply your knowledge of accounting and finance to real-world financial and management accounting, accounting operations, budget and forecast preparation, budget vs actual analysis, and financial reporting. You will work closely with our experienced finance team, and your ideas and creativity will be valued as we strive for continuous improvement and innovation. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. The Finance Intern will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Accounting and Auditing
- Contribute to all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Support timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany journals, consolidation, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors when deemed necessary.
Accounting System
- Support the continuous system improvement projects in Oracle NetSuite, AP systems Stampli/Procurify, and travel expense system Concur.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Assist with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, including cash management, and support budget vs actual analysis.
- Assist with statistical analysis and other special projects as needed.
- Present data-driven recommendations to the finance team.
Supervision
The Finance Intern will report to the Senior Accountant.
Qualifications required:
- Pursuing or has a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business fields.
- Hands on, highly driven to learn, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong, creative problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Capacity to work well both independently and as a team member in a multi-cultural environment.
- High standard of integrity.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Internship Duration:
This Finance Internship will last for six months, with a target start in March/April 2024. There is a potential opportunity for extension based on performance and company requirements.
