Responsibilities
The Quality Engineering intern will shadow manufacturing engineering, Sourcing and Quality departments. The Quality Engineering intern will also assist in the review of nonconforming product to determine root cause and help develop corrective action plans. A primary function of this role will require the use of CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCad) to perform drawing changes. Through this collaboration, the intern will learn how to drive process improvements and supplier requirements/development.

CANDIDATES MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the supplier Quality Engineer to assess new suppliers for adequate QMS, production controls, and product development skills.
- Work with Sourcing, Quality, and Engineering to ensure internal and external processes are approved.
- Work with incoming receiving to develop incoming inspection plans.
- Perform drawing changes processed through CAD software.
- Work with the supplier Quality Engineer to notification processes (corrective actions, PPAP, etc.) and return procedures.
- Standardize supplier quality management processes and programs such as zero defects, Lean, dock to stock, process validation, delegation programs with the goal to push robust Quality Assurance to suppliers.
- Assist in responding to customer regulatory compliance process ensuring that suppliers are providing timely and accurate updates on RoHS, REACH and PROP65 requirements.
- Collaborate internally to develop quality plans with respect to APQP, SPC, validation, verification, Final Test and Audit, PPAP, first article approval etc. prior to any new product release.
- Follows all company rules and regulations, including health and safety rules.
- Successfully interacts with employees at all levels.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or as may be required from time to time.
