The Valley Intern Program (VIP) is a unique and challenging 9-week experience for diverse, talented and motivated students interested in gaining relevant experience in their specific area of study within the banking industry. As a Valley intern you will be part of a team and work on projects that enable you to gain real-world skills and experience -- integrating academic learning with practical application. We offer the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to grow professionally and contribute to the end results of the assigned projects.

The Valley Intern Program (VIP) is a unique and challenging 9-week experience for diverse, talented and motivated students interested in gaining relevant experience in their specific area of study within the banking industry. As the Financial Analysis - Structured Products Intern, you will:
- Assist senior traders/analysts with both Interest Rate (IR) and Foreign Exchange (FX) hedging related tasks, not limited to running quotes, completing reports, analyzing trades, executing live trades, and handling post-execution processes
- Complete daily responsibilities which include responding to internal pricing quotes, compiling/sending out a rate sheet, monitoring exposure levels, affirming accuracy of trade details, etc.
- Learn about IR hedging strategies and the products utilized to achieve them: Swaps, Cross-Currency Swaps, Caps, Floors, Collars, etc.
- Learn about FX hedging strategies and the products utilized to achieve them: Spots, Forwards, Non-Deliverable Forwards, OTC Options, etc.
- Utilize trading platforms such as Bloomberg, DerivativeEDGE, and OPICS
- Collaborate with multiple other departments within VNB such as Commercial and Retail Banking, Loan Operations, Credit Underwriting, and Valley Financial Management

As a Valley intern you will be part of a team and work on projects that enable you to gain real-world skills and experience -- integrating academic learning with practical application. We offer the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to grow professionally and contribute to the end results of the assigned projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support your manager in performing research and/or analysis on specific topics.
- Independently complete tasks that contribute to larger projects relevant to the assigned department.
- Participate in meetings and team discussions to gain insight and contribute to the team's goals or projects.
- Communicate with team members and other departments to coordinate work, gather information and develop final work products.
- Join team building activities to establish cross functional relationships within the Valley community.
- Participate in VIP Mentorship Program meetings with your mentor to enhance your business acumen, network with senior leaders and develop technical and professional skills.
- Document and report on progress and results of projects and tasks.
- Attend professional development sessions/classes.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in VIP (Valley Intern Program) hosted events,trainings and projects including
- Valley Week of Service, Culture Workshops and final project presentations.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by the respective manager.
- Follow Company policies and procedures.
Requirements

Required Experience:
- Rising sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
- Currently enrolled in a College or University program.
