The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for executing sound processes relating to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for Rocket Pharma reporting directly to the CFO. This is a critically important and highly visible role that interacts with executive and senior management. The VP, Financial Planning and Analysis should be highly motivated to lead a team to identify, analyze, and propose solutions for the business. This leader will help ensure alignment and execution of department and organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop, lead and oversee the quarterly and annual budgeting process, as well as ongoing forecasting efforts to enable organization to deliver on key objectives
- Responsible for financial reporting, including monthly comparison of actual vs. budget results and relevant variance analysis, in a timely and accurate manner
- Performs comprehensive financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling, to evaluate performance and identify opportunities
- Responsible for driving alignment between Financial Planning and analysis and the business by working with business leaders to understand their needs and ensuring that the FP&A function is providing the information and insights they need to make informed decisions
- Proactively drive analyses of business performance and results and provide thoughtful, informed recommendations
- Support accounting team on month-end closing and quarterly SEC filings, as needed
- Influences leadership team through thoughtful decision-making and deep analytical insight into core business decisions and clear communication of complex issues
- Provides support for corporate partnering transactions, acquisitions, spin-offs, and other projects
- Supports the company’s investor relations team and outreach efforts through analyst modeling analyses, insights and developing financial messaging for investor events (i.e., earnings, investor conferences, webcasts)
- Lead business analyses supporting commercial opportunity of new and existing products (i.e. NPV analyses) working closely with new product commercial strategy team
- Develop and coach team to support growth and development and achievement of goals and objectives
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- 15+ years of Finance experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry
- 15+ years experience in Financial Planning and Analysis in a commercial manufacturing organization
- Strong experience in designing & leading best-in-class FP&A processes, (e.g. budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning) working in a biotech required.
- Proven success as an FP&A leader in a high growth environment
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Proactive approach to stakeholder management with the ability to influence at all levels within an organization, including members of the executive leadership team.
- Deep experience in budget analysis and execution
- Able to navigate seamlessly between setting strategy and executing/implementing
