We want to learn from you! Our teams at Symbotic value the early career talent that helps us solve critical issues in creative and innovative ways. That is why we offer Internship and Co-op programs where students have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals on some of our most pivotal projects. We invite students from institutions across the country to apply online or engage with our teams on campus at career fairs and other events. Symbotic offers an extensive calendar of events including Lunch and Learns, Social Outings, and Volunteer opportunities for our Interns and Co-ops to engage in.
The Summer Intern session is a 12-week, full-time (40 hours Monday-Friday) program while the Co-op cohorts typically run 16-weeks in the Spring and Fall. In both programs, students are paid a competitive hourly rate. Continue reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

What you'll do
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of standardized PLC programs for control systems of warehouse automation equipment
- Contribute to the design and implementation of PLC hardware and software systems
- Work with site operators to understand and diagnose PLC system issues
- Develop and execute testing plans to validate PLC systems performance
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to PLC programming best practices
- Develop and implement standardized PLC Add-On Instructions (AOIs) to improve code reusability and maintainability
- Develop and implement HMIs for PLC systems using Ignition software
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics or equivalent
- Knowledge of object orientated languages (e.g. C++, C#, Java, JavaScript);
- Ability to learn new technologies and techniques
- Ability to travel 25%
