JOB SUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity to obtain hands-on process development laboratory experience at a fast-growing biotech company. As a Chemical Development Intern, you will support the BioCryst Development Team across a variety of efforts, including process chemistry, data generation, data analysis, and scientific writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independent laboratory experimentation through process isolation
- Perform Chromatographic purifications of reaction mixtures
- Data generation/product identification of isolated products
- Procedure write up of laboratory experimentation
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Completion of Organic Chemistry laboratory classes
- Exceptional written and verbal communicator
- Self-starter who can work independently
- Ability to be flexible and adjust quickly as priorities change
- Team player who is willing to flex outside the prescribed role
- Passionate about communications
- Must be available to work 30-35 hours/week during the period of the summer internship
- Must be in proximity to the Birmingham, AL office
