This is a paid internship at our South San Francisco headquarters. The program is for approximately 10-12 weeks beginning in late May/early June.
You will report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the Senior Vice President of Business Development as well as the Head of Alliance Management. You will be a key member on a team building value through strategic alliances and licensing transactions.
The responsibilities for this position involve contributing to cross-functional work in close coordination with key senior staff and consultants (e.g., within Business Development and Alliance Management, Commercial Development, Intellectual Property and Legal Affairs, Finance, Project Management and R&D).
You will:
- Assist the team responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executing new strategic alliances/licensing transactions
- Perform background research on potential partners, including public and proprietary database searches
- Update internal tracking documents to ensure all information accurately reflects the current situation
- Support initiatives to enhance Alliance Management capabilities
- Inform Cytokinetics' strategic planning process
- Generate and deliver impactful presentations to senior management and key decision-makers
Requirements:
- College or graduate student, with responsibilities tailored accordingly
- Work full-time on site from Cytokinetics' South San Francisco headquarters
- Positive attitude, attention to detail and interest in helping others
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Biological knowledge necessary to understand the drug pipeline/portfolio of Cytokinetics and potential partners
- Excellent analytical capabilities required; strong understanding of statistics/interest in machine learning a plus
- Ability to summarize or simplify complex concepts in words and graphics and to "think on your feet"
Hourly pay range: $22-45/hour. Actual pay at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.
