Job Title:Baseball Systems Operator
Department:Baseball Operations - Analytics
Reports To: Director of Sports Science, Director of Analytics
Status: Internship - Seasonal, Part-time
Primary Objective: The Baseball Systems Operator will be responsible for operating the Hawkeye and/or Kinatrax systems during home games across the major and minor league affiliates.Essential Functions:- Operate a Hawk-eye or Kinatrax system for each home game, logging into the system a minimum of one hour prior to the start of the game (or earlier, as required).
- Communicate with the appropriate support personnel to prepare systems prior to the start of each game and to ensure that everything operates properly during the entirety of each game.
- Verify that the collection system is ready, rosters are correct, and pre-game information is accurate.
- Note all necessary information for each play of the game, including but not limited to roster and lineup changes, collection errors and discrepancies, etc.
- Capture and closely monitor all in-game data, calibration trials, and make any needed adjustments to ensure quality data is captured and accurately labeled.
- Review and verify all logged data to ensure the data is accurate.
- Review all previously logged and collected data making corrections as needed for accuracy.
- Complete all post-game processing steps as specified by the specific system.
- Communicate with personnel to share data, as necessary/required.
- Other system-specific duties may be assigned.
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
Required
- Qualified candidates must be organized, motivated, detail oriented, and strong communicators
- A strong internet connection and an ethernet cable to be able to connect to during work hours.
- Must be currently enrolled in a continuing education program or a recent graduate.
Preferred
- Previous experience using Kinatrax or Hawk-Eye, or other biomechanics software is preferred but not required.
