Horticulture Interiorscape Account Manager
Habitat Horticulture is a San Francisco-based design/build firm specializing in vertical gardens/living walls, urban and sustainable plant installations, both exterior and interior. We have built a strong reputation by providing thriving custom planter and living wall installations for clients such as Tesla, the California Academy of Sciences, Facebook, the SFMOMA, Salesforce, Stanford, and many others. We are looking for a dedicated Horticulture Interiorscape Account Manager who is interested in learning all things living walls and being instrumental in the success of our unique projects. You'd be the main point of contact for your clients, building long-term relationships with an emphasis on client satisfaction and retention.

We are looking for a dedicated Horticulture Interiorscape Account Manager who is interested in learning all things living walls and being instrumental in the success of our unique projects. You'd be the main point of contact for your clients, building long-term relationships with an emphasis on client satisfaction and retention.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships through clear and responsive communication and follow-through.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
- Facilitate challenging client requests and escalate issues as needed.
- Adhering to fertilizer and irrigation schedules, and modifying as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate service routes with clients and Habitat Horticulture Maintenance Team.
- Daily monitoring of living wall systems safeguards.
- Order, track and coordinate replanting, and schedule improvements based on client and leadership priorities.
Employee Management, Training, and Quality Control:
- Personnel management (hiring, reviews, vacation coverage).
- The ability to coach and develop teams in the areas of horticulture, irrigation, and proper pruning techniques.
- Conduct on-site orientations with employees in new positions, covering all company practices, procedures, and health and safety policies.
- Perform weekly site inspection and quality assurance checks.
- Coordinate troubleshooting of systems with site technicians.
- Delegate maintenance tasks to appropriate team members.
- Select and order appropriate plant species, along with coordinating the delivery of plants and materials.
- Adherence to design aesthetics and project vision, with the ability to improvise within these guidelines.
Operations:
- Review and approve employee expense reports and time cards.
- Track and monitor job costs vs estimated budget.
- Maintain site specific inventories.
- Keeping contracts organized and up to date in a timely manner.
- Ensure that our databases always contain up-to-date client information.
- Work with our Accounts Receivable team to ensure aging accounts are up to date.
- Work with management and staff to improve systems, guidelines, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Junior Account Manager, or relevant role.
- Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
- Energetic, Hardworking, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while prioritizing sharp attention to detail and responsiveness.
- Professionalism, especially when tested.
- Willingness to pivot and act promptly to supervisors and when unexpected issues arise.
- Ability to interpret unknowns and make confident informed decisions independently.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Horticulture degree or background experience, including plant ID, pruning, nutrients, pest management, and irrigation programming.
- 3 years of experience in the interiorscape / interior plant maintenance industry and/or landscape maintenance industry.
- Software proficiency in Google suite and MS Office required.
- Software proficiency in Slack, and Monday.com a plus.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform similar job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift and carry, push and pull 20-50 pounds of landscape material.
- Ability to walk/stand/squat/kneel/climb stairs.
- Ability to make frequent repetitive movements with the left and right hand, wrist, ankle, and knee.
- Ability to twist/turn/bend the trunk of the body frequently.
