Interior Designer

Drift Interiors is a residential interior design firm focused on creating organic, modern, + timeless interiors that are uplifting + functional. Our projects are primarily focused in New Braunfels and Austin, with occasional work in San Antonio. We take pride in our customer service, vast knowledge in both construction + furnishings, + our relationships with our clients + vendors.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are in search of an Interior Designer to assist with our current project load, as well as take the lead on future projects. This is a unique opportunity as the selected candidate over time will have the freedom + creative control to manage their own design projects, with oversight + direction from the principal designer.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has worked in interiors previously for at least 3-5 years, (bonus points for experience in new construction + build knowledge) who can jump right into many different projects and tasks. Wearing a variety of hats and being self-motivated is a must. GENERAL INFO

• Part Time or Full Time is available (estimated 25-35 hours a week) - Compensation is depending on experience but this position starts at $24 per hour.
• YOU MUST BE CURRENTLY LOCATED IN THE Austin / San Marcos / New Braunfels area, + be willing to drive in weekly to New Braunfels + Austin to for work meetings + site visits
• Farther travel may be required on occasion for trade shows, sourcing trips, or project site visits

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist principal designer with design + management of projects all phases of design
• Fully manage your own design projects, client meetings, + task list
• Keep detailed meeting notes, task lists, + calendars for multiple projects
• Create design concept boards for client presentations
• Create furniture plans, detail drawings, 3D models, and renderings in SketchUp
• Enter in project data, specifications + keep back end office files digitally organized
• Assist with preparation of client presentations + proposals
• Place orders, track open orders, + schedule deliveries
• Communicate with clients, vendors, + builders/contractors
• Research new sources, vendors, design trends + update office resource library
• Assist with installations + deliveries
• Run general office errands as requested

QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS NEEDED

• A minimum of 3 years previous work experience in an interior design firm and/or for a builder is required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) Google Drive/Doc/Sheets, + SketchUp is preferred
• Detail-oriented with a passion for procedures, organization, + efficiency
• Strong written + oral communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic; must be willing to do tasks large + small with a positive attitude
• Self-managed; must be able to work independently + stay on top of deadlines with little supervision
• Flexible, dependable, + service oriented
• Ability to juggle many tasks + projects at once, as well as shift focus from one project to another
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs for installs + deliveries

We value flexibility in work environment. This is a hybrid position that combines remote + in-person work. Candidate should expect to attend design meetings + site visits in Austin as well as in person collaboration in our office in New Braunfels.
