Position Summary
Due to its continued growth, UI Sleep Solutions is seeking an experienced, internally driven, and reliable Intake Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, will demonstrate initiative, and be detail-oriented. This position is responsible for providing exceptional care while assisting patients and referral sources with the equipment requested. Position Responsibilities
- Patient admission to UI Sleep Solutions services, including all aspects of the admission process including, but not limited to:
- Entering patient information to/from EMR & billing platforms.
- Verification and explanation of insurance benefits – and out-of-pocket expectations.
- Reviewing admission/intake forms with patient and/or family.
- Work with referral sources to make sure adequate documentation is received for patient’s coverage and benefit.
- Communication with patients regarding ongoing supply needs, assisting in the creation of delivery tickets based on patient needs.
- On-going documentation requirements including, but not limited to:
- Signed delivery tickets and/or tracking numbers based on patient requests.
- Yearly documentation requirements.
- Compliance reports & continuous patient interactions noted.
- Performing general receptionist duties and customer service.
- Understand and dispense items requested within the store, handling money responsibly and posting accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with payer and regulatory standards related to CPAP and BiLevel CPAP.
- Participate actively in UICH quality assurance programs.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to UICH’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & Job Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and team-based skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, including in person and via remote (phone, video, etc).
- Computer data entry skills.
- Dependable and trustworthy with the handling of money.
- Dependable transportation to/from work.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs, two times in a row from floor to counter.
Desired Qualifications
- Durable Medical Equipment Experience
- Brightree experience preferred
- EMR Experience – Epic preferred
- Experience with, or understanding of, how health benefits work (Deductibles, Co-Insurances, Maximum Out of Pocket, etc)
