Insurance & Risk Management Analyst

PURPOSE

As a Risk Analyst - Risk and Insurance you will be responsible for providing support for insurance solutions, benefit programs, and operational Risk Management benefiting the company, as well as the customers, agents and franchisees of GlobalTranz, Worldwide Express and Unishippers.. The Risk Analyst - Risk and Insurance will work cross-functionally to create a marketing plan and leverage best practices and technology to offer insurance solutions to customers, agents and franchisees. This role will be instrumental in the establishment of annual revenue goals and objectives and serve as liaison to key solution providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Report directly to the VP, Risk and liaise with the sales, business development, human resources, finance, marketing, and other departments.
Plan and implement continuous efficiency improvement initiatives (operational analysis, process improvement, capacity planning and project management), including integration improvements with proprietary transportation management system (TMS) and third-party partners.
Assist VP, Risk with insurance renewal process and other ad hoc insurance projects
Attend industry seminars, classes and continuing education programs to ensure the team remains appraised of industry trends and advancements
Build, manage, and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and industry peers
Review the performance of direct reports and hold trainings to drive performance
Assist with contract review and negotiations as they relate to insurance and other Risk Management matters
Provide support by participating in selection of and negotiation with brokers and insurance carriers
Manage and assist projects with the investigation and settlement of claims
Gather underwriting information and prepare specifications for insurance renewals
Obtain project specific insurance as required by contract
Manage insurance policy extensions
Tracking project insurance program data
Reviewing and filing insurance policy changes
Special projects as assigned

Develop strategies to increase use of shippers interest solutions by customers.
Monitor loss runs for shippers interest programs.
Recommend any insurance solutions that are not currently being used, or suggest using insurance solutions that are entirely new to the company.
Strategize and help develop revenue goals for insurance programs.
Work closely with Legal and IT departments to continuously improve and evolve processes relating to customers' purchase of coverage and related processes.
Act as escalation point for shippers interest coverage related issues.
Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical information regarding program revenue, loss mitigation and customer satisfaction.
Engage in high-level communications and serve as a liaison with key solution providers, including UPS Capital.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong problem-solving, organization, and leadership skills.
Advanced understanding of first party, shippers interest insurance terminology and coverages.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and processes.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced understanding of LTL/FTL services and claims terminology.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management as well as external partners
Ability to make independent decisions, assume responsibility and exercise good judgment

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
1+ years logistics experience
General knowledge of insurance programs
