West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Risk Management/Quality Improvement Analyst to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Risk Management/Quality Improvement Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting Risk Management and quality activities in support of the facility-wide risk and quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews and analyzes Healthcare Peer Review reports to identify trends, patterns and significant sentinel events. Compiles statistical data on all reported occurrences. Requests further information for follow up as needed.
- Assists with addressing problems; planning and implementing corrective action plans. Assesses the effectiveness of corrective action plans. Makes recommendations to Director.
- Reports critical incidents per UHS corporate office, state and federal guidelines.
- Prepares and may report aggregate data and relevant findings to the Patient Safety Committee, Medical Staff Committee, Governing Body and others as indicated. Provides recommendations for corrective action and ensures follow up through the facility Quality improvement process.
- Assists with Risk Management education assessment and development. Provides education to new employees at orientation and may conduct ongoing education and in-services on Risk Management topics.
- Assists social services staff in patient and family relations following an adverse event.
- Participates in EOC committee and conducts safety rounds to identify hazards and makes recommendations for corrective action.
- Participates in the development and implementation of claims and litigation management. Maintains claim information and ensures confidentiality of claim information.
- Advises Director of actual/potential risks to the organization; keeps Director informed of Risk Management issues.
- Assists regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, DHHS and other applicable agencies.
- Monitors PI indicators and action plans.
- Coordinates, reviews and updates hospital Performance Improvement Plans annually for Director’s approval.
- Leads Performance Improvement monthly meetings. Prepares agenda; complies and presents aggregate data and statistical reports; and takes minutes.
- Prepares quarterly Board of Directors PI report for Director’s review.
- Leads and coordinates PI initiatives and activities, to include survey readiness.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Licensure and certification: Required: None. Preferred: Licensure as RN.
- Experience Required: Three years of direct patient care experience in psychiatric inpatient hospital or related field with specific knowledge in high-risk areas, Joint Commission, CMS, and other relevant state and federal regulations. Experience may be substituted with education on a 1:1 basis.
