About this role:

The candidate for this role will report to the Manager of Insurance Partnerships, and will be responsible for the sourcing, structure, and business development relationships with individual carriers and brokers Samsara's U.S. Insurance Channel. Activities will include relationship building and management from the C-suite down, program building and execution, marketing, training and enablement of Agents and Producers, and data-oriented practice development done in high-touch collaboration with Samsara's Insurance Partners.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and source high quality Insurance Partners in each of the categories (insurance carriers, brokers, other insurance ecosystem partners).
  • Manage cross-functional projects and problem solve. Examples include:
    • Working with sales engineers on data integration questions or defining a new product feature request
    • Working with legal on contracts or data privacy/security issues
    • Working with Finance on paid referral payments, etc.
  • Given hundreds of potential partners in the insurance ecosystem, as well as competing internal interests, identifying where time spent will be most valuable to ensure revenue metrics are achieved
  • Ramping quickly to understand the insurance landscape, learning internal tools and processes, and operating in these systems.
  • Enable and engage with Samsara sales teams to leverage Insurance Partners in the sales cycle to source and close business

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • High degree of independence and time management skills
  • Sales acumen, relationship management, and negotiation skills
  • 5+ years sales experience with consistent, documented overachievement
  • 2+ years partnership/channel management or insurance industry experience
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is a major plus

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience in building/running channel marketing campaigns and sales training
  • Some working knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus
  • Bonus points for anything related to commercial auto

Samsara's Compensation Philosophy: Samsara's compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

Annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position is below and depends on your city of residence.

$161,075—$189,500 USD
