What you will do

- Create and update IFU content and graphics (layout and illustrations) for new and existing medical device/combination products to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and Company requirements
- Produce low- (quick sketch) to high-fidelity (refined digital files) prototypes of IFUs for usability studies
- Collaborate with internal partners to develop production-level instructional materials to support product use
- Produce concept prototypes and low-volume (quantities 50-200) printouts from department plotter and equipment for usability studies. Prototype production requires experience in printing, plotting, folding, trimming 2-d paper outputs, and printing, trimming, gluing, and constructing 3-d cartons from paper or cardstock materials.
- Apply design expertise and guidance in the content generation, illustrations, layout, and formatting of early-stage IFUs.
- Coordinate with multi-functional teams (including Human Factors, Device Engineering, Marketing Labeling, Clinical, Legal and Regulatory Affairs) while developing instructional materials.
- Contributes to a design team that troubleshoots relatively complex usability problems and issues.

Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree OR
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Engineering or Instructional Design experience OR
- Associate's degree and 6 years of Engineering or Instructional Design experience OR
- High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Engineering or Instructional Design experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years of instructional design experience, including IFUs, including relevant proficiency in rapid sketch illustration, digital line-art illustration, and image (photo) editing. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Medical, healthcare, medical devices, and/or pharmaceuticals background
- Must be punctual, reliable, flexible, and excellent at balancing multiple diligent projects
- Strong graphic design, page layout, illustration, typography, and instructional design skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and preparing artwork for printing
- Strong ability to illustrate human hands (in line-art)
- Experience in mocking up instruction or graphic prototypes (leaflets, booklets, cartons)
- Able to work in teams and adapt to a constantly evolving environment
