Availability: 40 hours/week (normal business hours MST), anticipated starting in February 2024

Rate: $55/hour, depending on scope of work and level of experience

And we’re growing! Currently, we’re looking for a Contract Instructional Designer (1099) to join our extended team. You will be responsible for developing design documents, assessments and other defined instructional materials. 

This is a long-term contract position with a high growth, innovative global tech company. The expectation is that candidates are able to accommodate a hybrid work environment, including 3 days each week in an office location in Phoenix, AZ with the other 2 days being remote. There will be occasional travel to meet with team members in another office location in Cupertino, CA. The rate for this particular role is $55/hour, which will ultimately take into account candidates' level of experience, education, and geographic location. There is not a variable compensation element associated with this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide top-notch instructional design to support a number of programs, such as technology transformations and implementation projects with our client
• Collaborate with Training Analysts and various L&D roles and subject matter experts to understand learner and client needs
• Develop course outlines and design documents; create scripts and storyboards for various delivery methods
• Design and develop courses in a variety of delivery methods that support learning needs
• Work directly with system and process SMEs to identify learning and performance objectives and translate them into learning content
• Attend project-specific meetings with cross-functional teams for all assigned projects/programs
• Participate in collaboration meetings with IDs and creative staff to support graphic/visual development
• Work directly with the client to design and develop courses that support learning needs.
• Present course design and materials to team members and incorporate feedback
• Validate, deliver, and evaluate the final training program and/or job performance product
• Ensure that the courses meet the learning and performance objectives and make necessary adjustments
• Design and develop performance measures for our client’s learning programs
• Recommend appropriate learning strategies based on client priorities/objectives and learner needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent years of work experience
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in instructional design/writing
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Working knowledge of such collaboration tools as iWork, JIRA, and Confluence
• Experience creating standard operating procedures and process documents preferred
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts 
• Experience with accessibility standards is a bonus 
• Exceptional presentation/facilitation skills and written communication skills to varying management levels
• Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize concurrent projects
• Must be able to self-motivate and demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to independently perform effectively
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
