Position Title: Instructional Coach/MTSS Coordinator (Teacher on Special Assignment for the 2023-2024 School Year) Reports to: Director of Curriculum & Instruction Position Summary: .The Instructional Coach/MTSS Coordinator at UPHS will work with the building and district leadership teams to build teacher capacity to meet the needs of all students through data analysis, brainstorming, planning, reflection, and revision of plans. This individual will contribute to professional learning, coach teachers, track data, and work with teacher leaders to analyze and present data findings to promote instruction and intervention appropriate for student success. Qualifications:Pennsylvania Level II teaching certificationTrack record or evidence of improving student achievement in their classroomDemonstrated deep knowledge of and experience in:ContentInstructional Strategies/DifferentiationTechnology integration and class managementConditions for learningAssessment driven instruction (teaching/learning process)Demonstrated knowledge and use of a rich array of instructional approaches, resources, and technologies across the content areasProficiency with Link It data system, and ability to train others to gain skills with the platformInterpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills required to effectively facilitate coaching and staff development, and MTSS meetings and communicationsAbility to design and/or facilitate (individually or in collaboration with others) high quality professional development for teachers/school staffKnowledge of equity issues in current educational reformKnowledge and skills to implement a standards-based education system Familiarity with PA Core and Academic Standards Essential Job Functions:The coach's goal is to ensure that school staff acquires the knowledge, skills, and understanding to enhance instructional practices at the classroom level by:Identifying areas of student need through data analysis, with additional data sought as neededHelping teachers choose appropriate instructional practices to meet student needs, with monitoring and adjustment as needed; focused on increasing student growth and achievement, according to the UPSD MTSS process.
Focus will be on differentiated instruction based on student needIncreasing student engagement by working with teachers and groups to implement effective engagement strategies.Support curriculum and assessment review as data and class performance indicates. Other Job Functions:Organize and support building administration in meeting with parents and teachers to discuss their child's progress and to determine priorities for their child(ren) and their resource needs.
