Job Summary:
The Logistics specialist is responsible for building customer relationships and identifying their shipping needs. Working to become proficient in both client sales and carrier negotiation to develop the independence to manage and develop their own book of business.
Essential Functions:
- Build customer relationships and identifies their shipping needs
- Develop new customers and business through the use of sales leads
- Present customers with cost effective solutions to meet their service requirements
- Establish and maintain carrier relationships to ensure success in meeting customer's shipping needs
- Coordinate movements of freight through our carrier network
- Shift responsibilities between operational and sales demands
- Work interactively within a Freight Broker Team to maximize overall performance
Scope and Accountability:
Applies basic principles, concepts, practices and standards of a professional field to complete standards tasks and assignments. Researches and interprets factual information (e.g., assesses accuracy of detailed information, identifies inconsistencies in data and results); frequently solves problems through research of multiple alternatives.
Qualification Requirements:
- Knowledge:. B.A or equivalent experience preferred. Will accept any reasonable combination of education, training, and experience.

- Proven success in brokering freight and developing carrier relationships
- Strong knowledge of truckload pricing models, current market pricing and effective negotiating skills a plus

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and typing/keyboard skills
Experience:
- 1-3 years experience in a sales role with strong customer service OR
- 1-3 years experience in a non-retail sales role with strong customer service
- Experience in the transportation industry is a plus
- Multiple mode Freight Brokering experience is a plus
- Experience navigating transportation management systems is a plus
This is a direct-hire opportunity, pay is dependent on experience.
Requirements
•Strategically support warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
•Support shipping, receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
•Assist in stock control and reconcile with data storage system
•Experience in forklift certification and inspection, operating various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
•Experience in dealing with multiple product code and fast paced environment
•Must be able to lift objects (occasionally between 30-50 lbs)
•Must have strong organizations skills and decision making and problem solving abilities
•Monitors the flow of paperwork for timely data entry
