Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success, a love for teaching, and an appreciation for the diverse backgrounds of our students, including those from military families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of elementary students.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and a love for learning.
* Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
* Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community.
* Support the school's commitment to safety by implementing and adhering to safety protocols on campus.
Minimum Qualifications
The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. With the exception of designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions, the minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian or counselor position is a Bachelor's Degree.
If you are hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, you have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license. You must enroll in a Program to continue employment with the Department. Within each year of employment, you must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements, as set forth by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB). It is your responsibility to ensure the program you have enrolled is aligned with the teaching line you are hired in.
