The Information Technology (IT) Specialist provides technical support to all National Able Network offices, departments and external customers. The IT Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, evaluating computer hardware/software and other electronic and telecommunications products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Installs, maintains and upgrades desktop, laptop and server software/hardware
- Sets up, installs, and monitors Active Directory accounts and Public Cloud tenancies
- Manages Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony, mobile and broadband telecommunications functions for Able and customers as necessary
- Maintains and supports network firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points
- Maintains and supports other office equipment (multi-function printers, video/access security, etc.)
- Maintains an up-to-date hardware/software inventories both internally and for external customers
- Serves as technical support (i.e. HelpDesk) point of contact tracking and resolving end-user questions/problems
- Provides special project technical support and travels to remote offices as required
- Maintains awareness of trends and developments in network and computer technology
- Other related duties as assigned
- Must be able to understand and respond to communications to assist staff and clients
- Current knowledge of computer systems including telecommunications hardware and software
- Advanced proficiency with Windows 10, MacOS X, Microsoft Office 365 and Google G-suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with consistent reliable follow through
- Must be able prioritize and manage multiple competing demands which still achieving deadlines
- Paid Work Experience (PWE) with National Able preferred
- BA or BS in technical field OR Cisco/Microsoft technical certifications; non-degreed/non-certified candidates must have at least 6 years of IT technical experience
- 2-3 years experience employed in a similar position ideally in a nonprofit or social services setting
- Good eye-hand coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, visual acuity to use keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information
- Must be able to lift move and carry up to 30 lbs. work independently
- Must be to travel to other Able and customer offices locally and potentially overnight for job-related responsibilities, training/seminars and conferences
